Friendly Reminder: No jewelry, rings, studs, necklaces, metal hairpins, etc. are allowed at practice / games for any age. Children with any of these on them will be asked to remove them before they're allowed to play.

Team Shirts or Jersey

Team T-shirts or Jerseys are provided through your soccer fees.

What items are required for my child to play?
  • Shin guards are required for all players

  • Soccer socks or long athletic socks that can be worn over the shin guards are required for all players

What shoes should they wear?
  • Players should have soccer specific cleats, they cannot have a center toe 'cleat'.

  • Cleats must be made of plastic or rubber

  • Soccer cleats are optional but recommended for children 6 years and older.

  • Younger players, 5 and younger, can wear sneakers if cleats are not available

What if my child has glasses?

They can choose to remove them, or apply a strap to keep prescription glasses from falling off.

Should I bring a soccer ball?

Balls will be provided but if you'd like to bring your own ball please bring one that is appropriate for your childs age.

  • 4-7 year olds play with a Size 3 ball

  • 8-11 year olds play with a Size 4 ball

  • 12 and older play with a Size 5 ball

Anything else I should consider bringing?
  • A water bottle that is clearly marked with your child's name

  • A zip up hoody for early season games where it can get cold

Medical Information & Insurance

Friendly Reminder: It is the parent’s responsibility to inform the coach of any known health problems or restrictions of their child.

Medical Release Forms 

A signed medical release form is mandatory for each child playing AYSA soccer. The medical questionnaire/release form must be completed and signed by the parent/legal guardian for each child before the child can play or practice. This form was on the back of the registration form you filled out. A copy of this form is given to your child's coach.

Soccer Association for Youth (SAY) Accident Insurance 

Part of your soccer registration fee pays for secondary accident insurance coverage while your child is participating in the AYSA program. Details of coverage can be obtained from any board member. In the event of an injury a SAY Injury Report must be completed immediately. This form can be obtained from the coach.
